3D-Printed Air Duct for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution TME

My air duct, specially designed for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution TME (Tommi Mäkinen Edition), replaces the outdated original parts and directs fresh air precisely towards the wheel arch – ideal for ventilating and cooling the front brakes. The series solution directs air vertically in front of the front wheels; our solution channels the airflow directly into the wheel arch, where it achieves maximum effect in conjunction with the Heavy Duty Brake Cooling. Perfect for racetracks, time attack, or fast mountain passes.

Tested Performance

The complete brake cooling kit (air ducts plus Heavy Duty Brake Cooling) was tested on an Evo 5 on a track day. Several hours were driven with and without brake cooling.

Since the Evo 5 and the TME are technically almost identical, the measurement results of the ABCustoms brake cooling on the Evo 5 were used as a reference. On the track, it became clear how significantly the new air duct optimizes airflow into the wheel arch and reduces brake temperatures:

Temperature reduction at the brake caliper: up to 20 °C
Temperature reduction at the brake disc: up to 80 °C
Consistent performance even during longer stints on the racetrack

The air duct thus ensures a more stable braking feel, less fading, and longer service life – a clear advantage for anyone who drives their vehicles sportily.
