XXL Intake System – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 / 8 / 9 (CT9A) – MAP Version

With this XXL Intake System, I have developed a solution that maximally utilizes the available space in the Evo, providing a clean, well-thought-out, and uncompromisingly performance-oriented intake. This version is specifically designed for vehicles that have been converted to MAP and no longer use an air mass meter.

Launch Edition – limited to 5 sets

The Launch Edition is the first batch of this system and is deliberately strictly limited. It is aimed at those who not only want to buy a product but also actively want to be part of its further development.

Concept & Structure

The system consists of a large-volume air filter box in combination with a flow-optimized intake pipe between the air filter and the turbocharger. By eliminating the air mass meter, the intake could be designed much more freely and generously. The goal was to guide the airflow to the turbocharger as unimpeded as possible while creating a clean, integrated solution.

The air filter box fully utilizes the available space in the engine compartment and blends in harmoniously. In addition to the original air supply via the snorkel, the box also has an opening downwards to draw in further fresh air.

Optionally, my air duct from the bumper to the air filter box can be installed here to guide the air specifically to the filter.

Intake pipe – maximum flow

The intake pipe connects the air filter box directly to the turbocharger and was designed without restrictions from an air mass meter. This results in a much freer intake path with a large cross-section and minimal flow resistance – ideal for high-performance setups and larger turbochargers.

All necessary connections are still integrated:

  • 35 mm connection for the blow-off valve
  • 10 mm connection for the crankcase ventilation
  • Quick Tap for the 5 mm vacuum line (boost control valve), flexibly installable in the silicone connector

MAP Version

This version is specially designed for vehicles without an air mass meter. Due to the eliminated MAF, the intake path can be dimensioned larger, which offers advantages especially for performance-oriented setups. The system is therefore ideal for tuned vehicles where the focus is clearly on maximum performance.

Vehicle-specific notes

For EU and JDM vehicles, the intercooler spray water tank must be removed to create the necessary installation space.

For USDM vehicles, use is unfortunately not possible due to the ACD pump.

For vehicles with standard intercooler piping, the lower part of the air filter box must be adapted and a small hole cut. An example of this can be seen in the pictures.
