XXL Intake System – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7 / 8 / 9 (CT9A) – MAF Version

With this XXL Intake System, I have developed a solution that makes maximum use of the available space in the Evo and offers a clean, well-thought-out, and performance-oriented intake – without compromise.

The Launch Edition is the first batch of this system and is deliberately strictly limited. It is aimed at those who not only want to buy a product but also want to actively participate in its further development.

Concept & Design

The system consists of a large-volume air filter box in combination with a flow-optimized intake pipe between the air filter and the turbocharger. The goal was to create a solution that was as free-flowing, clean, and at the same time suitable for everyday use as possible.

The air filter box makes full use of the available space in the engine compartment and integrates harmoniously into the visual appearance. In addition to the original air supply via the snorkel, the box also has an opening at the bottom to draw in additional fresh air.

Optionally, my air ducting from the bumper to the air filter box can be mounted here to guide the air specifically to the filter.

Intake Pipe – Thoughtful Integration

The intake pipe connects the air filter box directly to the turbocharger and integrates all necessary connections:

– 35 mm connection for the blow-off valve
– 10 mm connection for the crankcase ventilation
– Quick Tap for the 5 mm vacuum line (boost pressure control valve), flexibly installable in the silicone connector

MAF Version

This version is designed for vehicles with a mass airflow sensor (MAF) and comes with a suitable, compact air filter.

Vehicle-Specific Notes

For EU and JDM vehicles, the water tank for the intercooler spray must be removed to create the necessary space.

For USDM vehicles, use is unfortunately not possible due to the ACD pump.

For vehicles with standard intercooler piping, the lower part of the air filter box must be adjusted, and a small hole cut. An example of this can be seen in the pictures.

The idea behind this edition is a deliberate choice: You get an exclusive product at a reduced price – in return, I welcome honest feedback from practical experience.

It is important to me to further optimize the system with real-world experiences. Fit, installation, behavior in operation – everything you notice helps to perfect the product.
