3D-Printed Air Duct for Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6
This air duct, specially developed for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6, replaces outdated original parts and directs fresh air precisely towards the wheel well – ideal for ventilating and cooling the front brakes. While the factory solution typically directs air vertically in front of the front wheels, this design channels the airflow directly into the wheel well. In combination with suitable brake cooling (e.g., heavy-duty ducts), the brake system can be supplied with fresh air much more effectively – perfect for track days, time attack, or sporty mountain passes.
Advantages at a glance
- Targeted air routing directly into the wheel well – better supply for the front brakes
- Plug & Play: mounts to original fastening points
- Newly manufactured, durable alternative to hard-to-find original parts
- Track-oriented design – ideal in combination with brake cooling systems
Material & Design
- Made from a carbon fiber-reinforced high-performance plastic (CF-Compound)
- High temperature and UV resistance for use in the wheel well area
- Aerodynamically designed for clean airflow
- Made in Germany
Tested Performance
The complete brake cooling setup (air ducts plus brake cooling) was tested on a track day on an Evo 5. Since the Evo 5 and Evo 6 are technically very closely related, the measurement results serve as a practical reference:
- Temperature reduction at the brake caliper: up to 20 °C
- Temperature reduction at the brake disc: up to 80 °C
- Consistent performance even during longer stints
The result: more stable braking feel, less fading, and longer service life – especially with sporty use.
Important note on approval
No parts certificate (Teilegutachten) or general operating permit (ABE) is available for these air ducts. Use on public roads is therefore not automatically permitted. Please clarify any possible registration in advance with your inspection organization (e.g., TÜV, DEKRA, KÜS, GTÜ) and note: For legal use on public roads, approval by the respective inspection organization is generally required.
Highlights
- Developed & manufactured in-house
- Plug & Play – no adjustments required
- Optimized air ducting for road & track
